3D2N in Tempat Senang Resort & Spa @ Batam

This is a rather late post, but better late than never right? >.< Anyways, I went for a short getaway on the long weekend in July! Reserved the bottle cottage room early June. Tempat Senang features individual themed rooms. Any overnight package with include land transfer, breakfast and 3 hours spa session. Reservation is made through email. We have purchased an additional 3 hours spa at IDR 1,500,000.

Their check-in timing is 1pm & check-out at 11pm. You only need to make payment when you are there. Cash payment is preferred to avoid a 2.9% surcharge for credit card payment. You need to purchase ferry tickets to get there! I bought from batam fast. The ferry departs from Harbourfront ferry terminal! Didn't take much photos for the front part of the journey; still not fully awake I think! :/

Once we cleared the immigration and arrived at Batam, we saw a staff from Tempat Senang waiting for us. There was a slight rain when we arrived but that was the only rain we saw during our stay there. We waited a while at the terminal as the staff is fetching another group of guests along with us to the resort, but I think that group of people were buying things from the terminal or something?

Anyways, finally we were on the way to the resort and apparently there is a parrot just outside the entrance to the reception area.

We were led into the reception area and on the table, there were a lot of variety of the treatment products they used. Since we needed to choose our first round of treatments, we ended up smelling the various products.

After selecting our treatment and our meal after we are done with our spa, we went led to our room to settle down first!

Bottle cottage! (Our room)

BED

Bottles used as design in the room!

Fridge and toilet. More bottles used!

Shower area

Jacuzzi & sink!

Shower foam, shampoo & conditioner were all provided. In addition, there are quite a number of their products placed beside the sink for us to try out! Somehow, we didn't take a close up picture of those products.. Based on what I can remember, there were facial foam, face mist, toner, hair mask & etc.

After that, we were brought to the spa area!
To spa~

The first round of treatment for me was foot massage, Tibetan Hot Stone Massage & hydrating facial treatment. My friend opt to do a hair spa treatment instead of facial. It was my first time trying out foot massage since my knowledge of foot massage involves pain >.< But this foot massage was soooo relaxing and soothing that I found myself falling asleep.. zzzz They provided an eye mask to cover our eyes as below!

The hot stone massage was.. well... HOT! Scorching hot stones are placed on your body.. The therapists even ask if we wanted to change the treatment cause we kept flinching and saying it's too hot :/ But we managed to 'tahan' and completed the hot stone treatment >.< Not something I would try again I think. Facial treatment was ok I guess. My friend says the hair spa is not bad though!

Time for lunch! We choose some spa set for 2. It was not too bad; makes you feel kinda of healthy? It's full of fruits and vegetables ;)

Then we went back to our room to watch movie and 'nua'. They provide you with a thumb drive which you can go to the reception to download movies and watch back in the rooms. CDs and DVDs were available as well. We also set up our Jacuzzi bath as well!
Bubbles bubbles!~

For dinner, we had a sprite chicken for 2! Beer chicken is also available if you prefer alcohol! It's quite nice but quite a big portion for 2! Furthermore, it comes with mash potato and some vegetable! Got a bit sick of the chicken by the end of the meal -.-
Sprite chicken

They have a buffet breakfast in the morning but I am not impressed by the food.. I mainly ate the toast.

For the second day's spa treatment, we have chosen hot herbal compress, body massage (Indonesian for me, office for my friend) & body scrub (peppermint for me). Hot herbal compress is not as hot as the hot stone massage, or maybe we just got used to it? The massage and body scrub were good. After the scrub, you can take a shower in the room to wash off the remains of the scrub.

We decided to eat our instant noodle that we brought for lunch. We requested for some hot water from the reception.
Our snacks from Singapore >.<

Then after watching some more movie, we decided to play at the pool.

Snapping photo as well of course!

Another pool

Then we played another kind of pool! :D It's my first time playing. There were some other staff watching us playing and laughing at us as well ;D

For our last dinner, we tried out their drinks and kebab for 2. We chose chicken and beef for the kebab. The beef is well flavoured but it is too tough! That pot of vegetable was not bad though! The dish came with some fried potato thing and a scoop of rice and it tastes very well with the sauce from the vegetables!

Then it is the end of our stay! The next morning while waiting for our ride to the ferry terminal, we bought some for their products at the reception. We also bought kueh lapis from the ferry terminal before heading to Singapore.

Then, it's the end of our short trip in Batam! Back at Vivo, we had a late lunch together before going home! Now, that is what breakfast should be like!

And yes! I am going to catch my flight to KOREA THIS FRIDAY!! Sayonara people!!!

pre-KOREA [PART 2]: Other reservations & Itinerary

-continued from previous post-

Other reservations made in advance
Airport transfer
Early September, I booked an International Taxi to head to Incheon airport from our apartment. I booked a large taxi since there are 6 of us. We will be using this taxi to go to our apartment from the airport; without booking. No reservation is needed if you want to ride the international taxi from the airport. The rates seems reasonable since the cost will be shared among 6 of us and we do not need to drag our luggage to and fro the airport!

Changdeokgung Palace Guided Secret Garden Tour
I have booked the guided secret garden tour >>here<< The only way to visit secret garden is by guided tour. No payment is made online; you pay when you are at Changdeokgung Palace. They have specific time frame for different languages, so it would be good to know and plan the timings you want to visit the palace.

ITX to Gapyeong (To Nami Island)
You can booked your ITX tickets in advance from korail Japanese siteEnglish site to reserve seats! ITX trains departs from Yongsan station and Cheongnyangni station to Gapyeong station. Reservation can be made up to one month in advance. You need to key in your credit card number to confirm the reservation. It costs 4,000 won per person for departure from Cheongnyangni station.

Steps for online reservation
1. From the English site, click on "Korail Pass Reservation"

2. You will be guided to their booking site. Go to "Rail Tickets" and click on "Booking Online".

3. You will be at the booking page. Select your dates and station; whether  departing from Yongsan or Cheongnyangni station. Alighting station will be at Gapyeong. From Cheongnyangni station, it takes 40 minutes to reach Gapyeong.

4. Select your preferred timing and complete your details and credit card number. A confirmation page will appear and we need to print out this confirmation page as well as bring your passport to any Korail station to collect the ITX tickets

Additional portable wifi from WiFi-Korea
I reserved for an additional portable wifi from wifi-korea. We will have 1 portable wifi provided by our airbnb host in Seoul. However, since there are 6 of us and we will split our groups into 2 occasionally, we figured out it will be better to have wifi for each group to stay connected to one another.

A deposit of USD100 is charged to the credit card on top of the daily rental rate. The deposit will be returned once the wifi is returned to them in proper condition and no data is exceeded. You can choose to collect and/or return the wifi from Incheon airport or your hotel at an additional charged on 5 USD each.

Wifi-korea has 2 types of portable wifi. A comparison between them available from their site below.
1.  Everywhere Speed Pack (ESP)

Price: USD $3.99 & 700MB per day
Connectivity: Everywhere in South Korea including Jeju & DMZ
Speed: up to 100 Mbps
Battery: 8 to 10 hours

2. Urban Data Pack (UDP)

Price: USD $2.99 per day & Unlimited data
Connectivity: Seoul, Busan and Metropolitan Cities. No coverage in Jeju, Sokcho, Gyeongju, Nami island and ski resorts. UDP signal gets weak in buildings, and very poor in COEX and Lotte World. Network speed gets slower after 1 GB per day
Speed: up to 10 Mbps
Battery: 5 to 7 hrs

Since we will be going to Nami island and Lotte World, we decided to go for the former; i.e. Everywhere Speed Pack (ESP). We should have enough data usage per day since we have another portable wifi and when we are in the apartment, there is internet as well. Will do a review on this once I'm back from Korea :)

Cecica Hair Salon
This was a rather last minute plan to do our hair in Korea. After some research, we decided to make a reservation with Cecica(Korean site). The price seems reasonable and the reviews seem quite good. Basically, you fill in your request under 'Reservation' and  wait for their response.
